Grilled Eggplant with Miso Sauce

Eggplant

1 and 1/2 tbsp
Miso

1 and 1/3 tbsp
Sugar

1/2 tbsp
Mirin (or Japanese sake)

Some
Sesame seeds
Instructions

  1. Cut eggplant in half.
  2. Pour 1/2 tbsp mirin (or Japanese sake) in a small bowl and microwave it for 30 seconds.
  3. Mix the heated mirin and miso, sugar in the bowl.
  4. Heat the grill for 3 minutes over medium high heat.
  5. Place the eggplants skin-side up and grill for 3 minutes, covered.
  6. Turn over and put the mix on the eggplant.
  7. Add water in the water pocket and steam it for another 3 minutes, covered.
